Fascinating woven bamboo wall.
I was trying my hardest to not squint in this picture.
Kanazawa has one of the "Top Gardens" it was quite pretty. Though not actually one of the more memorable parts of the city.
This was a crazy tree that had been maintained and shaped for centuries.
It was carefully supported.
We made a habit of ordering coffee as we traveled. Picked this habit up in London and Barcelona, it was more of a quest in Japan but we found some great coffee.
This was the phone at the hotel we were staying at. It was awesome.
This is a segment in Kanazawa that is largely intact from the Edo period. Kanazawa and Kyoto were two cities that were not extensively bombed during WW2.
We found an art museum in Kanazawa that has these outdoor exhibits, which were fun to play on. The indoors didn't allow pictures.
Say nothing of sweeping the paths, in this garden they sweep the grass/moss too.
This is what is left of the Castle in Kanazawa. It was pretty cool and under restoration. But the central keep/palace was long gone. Most of what you see here is outer walls/barracks.
They were repelling down from the top of this wall, to clean the plants off of it. It was kinda interesting to watch.
